Post-16 Open Evening is a huge success with an extremely healthy turn out of parents and students
The Post-16 Open Evening at the West Bridgford School took place on Wednesday November 8th and was a resounding success. The turn out of parents and students, both current WBS students and potential new to school students from many different schools and colleges across Nottinghamshire, ensured that it was an extremely busy but positive evening.
The format of the evening means that students and parents have the opportunity to attend one of the Welcome talks from Mr Bowie, the Director of Post-16, (with the student perspective being ably given by Tara Butterick, one of our Year 12 students) as well as then attending the Subject Fair that takes place in the Sixth Form Block. Besides staff being there to respond to questions, there were very many of our own students as subject helpers and general helpers. As always, they did a wonderful job, showing a real pride in their Sixth Form and a delight in their subjects. Their enthusiasm was clearly infectious and there was a very positive hum throughout the building during the evening.
We will be interviewing all students throughout January and February 2024. Conditional offers will be sent out from March 2024.
Many thanks to all staff but especially to all those students that generously gave their time to help promote the Sixth Form. We look forward now to receiving student applications; our internal deadline for this is Friday December 1st. The application form can be found on the Post-16 section of the website or by clicking here. Once we have received all the student applications, we will organise the student interviews which will take place from January 2024. Conditional offers will be sent out in April 2024.
